The Iraqi Dinar and the Formation of A New Government
The Iraqi government is yet to be formed and the people are just still waiting for the time the country will be able to boast of what can be referred to as a proper government. There is a very strong indication that this may lead to the delay in the revaluation of the Iraqi dinar. The Iraqi dinar is being considered for revaluation by the present government in Iraqi in an attempt to give the economy of the country a kind of facelift. This improvement in the economy may never see the light of day if a proper government is not given a chance in the country.
The present government in Iraq is not democratically elected. In fact, the government was chosen by the United Nation to oversee the operation of things in the country. The intention of the United Nations must have been to keep the polity together until a proper election can be conducted.
The Iraqi election did come and the end result was nothing meaningful. At the end of the election, Iraq still remains a country without a properly elected president. This is one factor that is not allowing things to really settle down in Iraq. The government has several projects to embark upon but the present situation of the failed election is threatening to put all of the projects on hold.
The reason given for the absence of a democratically elected head of government of Iraq is that the Iraqi election lacks enough number of votes that are essential for the election of a president. Because of this, there couldn’t be anything like a democratically elected president in Iraq at least for now.
The United Nation is now making moves to select a president for Iraq and this is not going down well with the majority of people of Iraq. Various groups of people had risen against the move with all that they have. They claim that such action will never be beneficial for the country.
Part of the reasons given by these individuals is the fact that Iraq is a complete entity on its own and it should be allowed to make its own choices. These groups claimed that if the United Nations is responsible for choosing a leader for the country, there is the possibility of the chosen head not living up to the expectations of Iraqis and this may lead to the affairs of Iraq been controlled from somewhere else; since the chosen person will only want to do the will of his masters.
This situation that we have on our hands will really go a long way in affecting how the Iraqi dinar will end up being revaluated. The situation will only lead to some measure of delay on the part of the government. One thing is that nobody knows exactly when this whole thing will be over; hence, the dream of a revaluated dinar may really take very long time in coming. Every investor will have to just be watchful for any news on the happenings in Iraq.
