French government representatives discuss investing in Iraq

A delegation comprised of representatives of the French embassy in Iraq has discussed investment opportunities during a meeting with the governor of Basra. “The talks tackled areas of investment in the city and the mechanism for the arrival of French companies in the province for the implementation of investment projects in the oil sector,” Governor Shaltagh Abboud al-Mayyah told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The talks have also discussed the preparations for the visit of the French ambassador to Basra, he added. The Shiite province of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
